I've purchased this little beauty twice now! Once about three years ago, and again a couple months back. I'd really like to get one for my girl friends HTPC (home theater PC), and another for my HTPC (as I like it so much, I use it on my desktop PC).
The first keyboard lasted about a year or so, however, it become the victim of an unfortunate party foul; a beer spill. This keyboard is unfortunately neither water errr... liquid proof, not is it designed in a away that would allow easy recovery (though, now that I think of it, I might have been able to WD40 it back to life).
That being said, it IS very pricey! So it took this long for me to want it enough to buy it again. And I'm very happy with my purchase!
I never have any connectivity issues (and never have had any). I don't charge it but once every two weeks, and don't remember the last time it ran out of power. I didn't get to the one and a half year mark, I think, to determine if, as some reviews suggest, it has a battery issue. I will let you know (beer gods willing).
I probably wont buy two more, but I really want them! I came here to look for a used one, however, I figured, for the price I paid, this review might help others in their decision.

I was looking for something for my HTPC that could be recognized during boot and include mouse and keyboard in one unit. In four months I charged it only two times. Unfortunately, the up arrow AND the right arrow keys stopped working on me. I plugged the device into another computer to check if it was indeed a hardware issue for such a new device. Indeed, this was the case. In addition to receiving a faulty product, Logitech customer service was poor and would not honor their warranty.
I will instead purchase a Apple magic trackpad and Apple wireless keyboard for my HTPC. If I have to boot to bios then I will use my 8 dollar wireless mouse and keyboard, which has working up and right arrow keys : )
I will not purchase from Logitech again due to their poor customer service.
Note: If the product was not defective I would have rated it 4 stars. -1 star for the track disc/mouse being uncomfortable to use.

I got this as a special order from my bookstore at school because I had extra credit lying around. I just have to say that I only charge around 2 months at a time and I've had it since it first came out in 2007. After three years of heavy use, such as CS, COD2, SC2, etc., its still going strong and I prefer it to any other keyboard. Its been responsive still and its been through a lot of abuse.

I wish I paid attention to these negative reviews. My keyboard also died after a little more than a year -- with very little use.
My other expensive Logitech keyboard MX5500 also died -- keys got stuck and very stiff -- after more than a year. No more Logitech buys from me.

The good: this keyboard is very attractive. It has cool lights that come on conditionally and are completely hidden when not lit. It's hard to explain without seeing. Logitech has videos on their site. It has a built in touch mouse thumb pad and a geeky cool touch volume control. The keys are reminiscent of a decent laptop keyboard in profile and feedback. It is an excellent lap keyboard that just looks cool sitting on the coffee table.
The bad: I've gone through four of these, two at work and two at home. The first two had keys stop working under moderate use after 6 - 8 months. The second two worked for about one year of moderate use and while I didn't have problems with the keys, the battery life suddenly went to zilch. They are, at this point, requiring recharge every few days.
My conclusion: If you want a keyboard that is to run your PC run media center, spending most of the time turned off, looking cool in your living room, this is an excellent choice. If you want a keyboard that actually works for a living your money is likely better spent elsewhere.
